Catania City Pass

The brief

Ecom Studio needed one app to replace what tourists in Catania currently piece together from paper guides and separate ticket booths — browsing attractions and museums, booking guided experiences, and getting through the door, in whatever language they actually read.

What we built

A hybrid Ionic/Angular app — one codebase covering iOS and Android — backed by a PHP/MySQL API. It ships an interactive GPS map of attractions, in-app ticket booking, and QR check-in at the venue, with multilingual support built in from day one instead of bolted on later.

Why it holds up

Being hybrid rather than fully native was a deliberate tradeoff: Ecom Studio ships updates to both platforms from one codebase, which matters more for a tourism app (new attractions, new tours, seasonal changes) than squeezing out native-only performance would.
